​MASTER INSTRUCTORS

​My family and I built our home in Oviedo in 1999. My husband and I both grew up in Winter Park and graduated from Lake Howell High School.  Our twin boys, Lane and Wyatt are 20 years old.  I knew when my boys were in ISR lessons that I had to do this one day.  I was so impressed with their instructor, their skills, and the ISR program.  I have taught Infant Swimming Resource lessons for the past 17 years.  I am very passionate about keeping children safe in and around the water. I am  dedicated to the ISR mission that, "Not one more child drowns". In 2004  I  trained to become a Master Instructor  so that I could reach more children by training  new instructors.  I have trained several ISR Instructors in the area and also had the opportunity to travel throughout the country to train instructors.  If you didn't already notice, I love pictures!  I love to scrapbook as much as I can.

Experience:
In 1998 I trained to become an ISR Instructor.  At that time ISR was, Infant
Swimming Research.  I taught from our Casselberry home and at  Bob's Pools, while  our house in Oviedo was being built. 

From 1998-2008 I taught lessons at our home in Oviedo.

In 2008, I began traveling to train students and new instructors in Connecticut, Michigan, Missouri, and Texas.  
                
In 2009 I joined the Safe Start program at the YMCA of Central Florida.  Safe Start is the non for profit partner of Infant Swimming Resource.  With the Safe Start program I trained many students, instructors, and coordinated the instructor development program. 
 
In the last 17 years I have taught over 2,000 students, thousands of refreshers, and trained 17 new instructors.  I absolutely LOVE what I do and I am so excited to be able to offer lessons year round!

Certified ISR Master Instructor​

In 1998 my twin boys, Michael and David took ISR lessons with my friend, Michelle Nutter. I was so impressed with their swim float swim sequence and their aquatic self-rescue abilities; I knew I wanted to become an ISR Instructor! I was Certified in 2001 and was chosen and trained to be an ISR Master Instructor in 2004. Since that time, I have taught thousands of children ISR Self-Rescue skills. It was also important to me to help train ISR Instructors in different states so ISR would be available in more communities. I trained over 20 ISR Instructors locally and in NJ, NY, TX, IA, IL, WI and NE! I have over 20 years of experience teaching ISR Self-Rescue skills!

My passion is Drowning Prevention and I teach ISR full time!

I am happily married and love the outdoors! We love to camp, kayak, snorkel, bike, hike, dance and travel! I also enjoy spending time with my three adult sons, Michael, David and Brandon.
(In case you were wondering, it's not a coincidence that  Dawn and I both have twin boys. We  became friends  over 20 years ago through our  "Twins Club").
